Since 1990 we have been the North American General Sales Agent for "Scotland's Commended" Hotels of Distinction which in 1998 changed their name to "Scotland's Hotels of Distinction" to reflect the change in the Scottish Tourist Board's Grading and Classification Scheme to a star system. This marketing association of privately owned and personally managed hotels is the core group of hotels we book in Scotland. However, over the years we have added a number of additional hotels in Scotland, England and Wales including a selection of castles and historic hotels and inns.

We offer a selection of unique properties that will make your holiday in the United Kingdom a memorable one. The majority of the properties which can be booked through McFarland Limited have less than 25 rooms, but most have an award winning restaurant with one or more "Rosettes" awarded by the Automobile Association. None of the properties represented by McFarland Limited could be described as a "typical American style commercial hotel."
